1. The Competition
The "Catch of the Month — Powered by CatchMate" competition ("the Competition") is a social media video competition open to Australian residents. Entrants submit short videos showing themselves using the CatchMate app alongside a fishing catch for the chance to win a free Cast Club membership or other prizes as specified at the time of the draw.
2. Eligibility
- Open to Australian residents only.
- Entrants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
- Entrants must have a valid TikTok or Instagram account.
- Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of Starla Digital are not eligible to enter.
- Limit of one (1) entry per person per competition period.
3. Competition Period & Draw Schedule
Each competition period runs for a period stated in the promotional post launching that draw. The promoter may run multiple competition periods, but does not guarantee any fixed cadence or frequency for prize draws. The schedule of draws (including any regular or periodic cadence) is at the promoter's sole discretion and may be modified, paused, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.
The start and end dates for each period will be clearly stated in the promotional post launching that period. Entries submitted after the competition close date and time will not be considered.
4. How to Enter
To enter, entrants must complete all of the following steps during the competition period:
- Download and use the CatchMate app (free on Google Play and the Apple App Store).
- Film a short video (maximum 60 seconds) showing yourself using the CatchMate app and your fishing catch.
- Post the video to TikTok or Instagram with the hashtag #CatchMateAU.
- Follow the official CatchMate account on the platform where the entry is posted.
- Tag at least one other person in the comments of your entry post.
5. Content Requirements
All entry videos must comply with the following requirements. Non-compliant entries will be disqualified.
5.1 Required Content
- The CatchMate app must be visibly shown in use (on screen or held in hand).
- A fish (caught, in the process of being caught, or being released) must be shown.
- The video must be filmed in Australia.
- The entrant must be the person who filmed and caught the fish shown.
5.2 Prohibited Content
Entry videos must not contain any of the following:
- Minors: No person under the age of 18 may be the primary subject of the video. Any incidental appearance of a minor (e.g., in the background) requires written parental or guardian consent provided to the promoter upon request.
- Illegal fishing: No undersized fish, fish over bag limits, or protected/prohibited species. Entrants are responsible for knowing and complying with all applicable state and federal fishing regulations.
- Unsafe practices: No content depicting unsafe handling of fish, boats, or equipment.
- Alcohol or drugs: No visible alcohol containers, drug paraphernalia, or intoxicated behaviour.
- Explicit language or imagery: No offensive, obscene, or sexually explicit content.
- Harassment or discrimination: No content that is discriminatory, hateful, or harassing toward any person or group.
- Third-party intellectual property: No copyrighted music, logos, or other content used without appropriate licence. Use royalty-free or licensed audio only.
- Private property: No content filmed on private or restricted land without permission from the land owner.
- Misleading content: No staged, fabricated, or misleading catch footage.
6. Prize
- One (1) winner per competition period will receive the prize specified in the promotional post for that draw (e.g. a Cast Club membership, fishing gear, or vouchers as stated at the time of the draw).
- The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other item.
- The prize has no cash value and cannot be transferred to another person or account.
- Where the prize is a Cast Club membership, it will be applied to the winner's existing CatchMate account. The winner must have a registered CatchMate account to claim the prize.
7. Winner Selection
- The winner will be selected by the promoter at their sole discretion based on video quality, creativity, and genuine use of the CatchMate app.
- The promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The winner will be notified via direct message on the platform where their entry was submitted within seven (7) days of the competition close date.
- If the winner does not respond within seven (7) days of notification, the promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
- The winner's username and entry video may be announced and shared publicly across CatchMate's social media channels.
8. Content Licence
By entering the Competition, the entrant:
- Grants Starla Digital (CatchMate) a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, share, and display the entry video across CatchMate's social media channels, website, app store listings, and marketing materials, with credit to the entrant's social media handle.
- Confirms they are the sole creator and owner of the submitted content and that it does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Retains full ownership of their content.
9. Disqualification
The promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry that:
- Does not comply with these Terms & Conditions.
- Contains content that breaches Section 5.2 (Prohibited Content).
- Is submitted by an ineligible entrant.
- Is submitted via a fake, inactive, or bot account.
- Is submitted after the competition close date.
10. Privacy
Personal information collected in connection with this Competition (including name, social media handle, and email address) will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Competition and awarding the prize. This information will be handled in accordance with the CatchMate Privacy Policy and applicable Australian privacy laws.
11. Platform Disclaimer
This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with TikTok, Instagram, Meta Platforms, or any other social media platform. All questions and complaints regarding the Competition should be directed to the promoter at info@starladigital.net, not to the respective platform.
12. Termination of Regular Draws
Important: The promoter reserves the right to terminate, pause, or modify the regular cadence of prize draws (including any periodic or scheduled draw program) at any stage and without prior notice. Where a draw has been publicly announced and is actively running at the time of any such decision, that draw will continue to be processed in full and prizes will be awarded to the winner(s) as stated. No draws will be abandoned once they have commenced.
Cast Club membership provides access to CatchMate's premium features as described in the app. Prize draws are a value-added benefit offered at the promoter's discretion and do not form part of the core subscription entitlement.
13. General
- The promoter reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel any individual Competition at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.
- These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
- The total prize pool for any single competition period does not exceed AUD $300. This Competition is conducted under the relevant trade promotion lottery exemptions applicable in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria for promotions under $3,000 AUD in prize value.
- By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions in full.
